Once again, I find myself wondering if we have lost our instinct for survival. The media has been completely consumed with celebrities tweeting a photo and giving themselves a pat on the back when we have yet another looming crisis on our doorstep. I’m not blaming the media. They print and program what people want to consume and that is what bothers me. We’d much rather look away than turn to our elected officials and demand that they take action against Russia in Ukraine. That’s the attitude that brought us to this very point. We should have elected a president that could set the tone to keep enemies and would-be enemies in line. Instead, our focus was on electing a rock star to be hip and cool. A guy that takes selfies at memorial services. He has failed us as a leader repeatedly…Iran, Syria, Benghazi…but man, he is cool, huh? He is a true rock star. For the record….rock stars make horrible commanders-in-chief.
