JC Penney: We're Sorry … Now Come Back and Shop (via CNBC)
In the spirit of full disclosure, I shop at JC Penney. But this story is just sad on a couple of different levels. You have a company that has been around for years and is a household name that is in real danger of becoming extinct very soon. On top of that, the have basically resorted to begging. I really hope the tv ads don't include the current CEO pleading on his knees for customers to come back. Wait…now that I think about it…that would be kind of funny. But seriously…does anyone believe that abandoning the new marketing tactics in favor of the old marketing tactics that led them to losing money is really going to save this dying old horse? I predict (something I hate to do) that this company will be gone in a year or two. I sincerely hope that someone in their operation can come up with a solution and prove me wrong. – Eric
