I remember driving through west Texas a couple of summers ago and seeing firsthand just how bad the drought was. We were warned about the impending rise in beef prices as a result, but few folks were talking about the droughts impact on corn feed, which means less feed for chickens and other livestock. Couple this with rising fuel prices, higher payroll taxes, and inflation overall and you have a real recipe for an economic slowdown. – Eric
