The New Truck Stop: Filling Up With Natural Gas for the Long Haul (via National Geographic)
I'm on my way to to Louisville, Kentucky for the Mid-America Trucking Show and I came across this article from Nat Geo. It's a very interesting read about the rollout of LNG filling stations across the U.S. and the new LNG engines from Cummins that could be on the road by the end of the summer. At a premium of $40k to $80k per truck, LNG will not be an option for the independent owner-operator in the foreseeable future. But, for the fleets and some of those leased to fleets, the return on investment could be incentive enough to at least get the ball rolling. I expect to learn more at MATS. – Eric
